Long story short, I had surgery, was having heart palpatations afterward, went to the ER. They did every test under the sun and then recommended that I follow up with a primary physician to discuss a thyroid problem. I made an appointment with Dr. Butt, who told me he would get my blood work from the hospital, review it and discuss the results but that'd I'd have to come back. I come back for my second appointment, waited over an hour - for him to tell me again that he never got my blood work and I should just have all the tests taken over again. TWICE I had to pay him for him to do absolutely NOTHING. Do not recommend at all.

Dr Butt is a caring physician who practices with common sense and decency. He isn't an alarmist and he definitely listens to your concerns and tries to find solutions. He has years of experience and is training the next generation of residents in his practice. Highly recommend.

Accomodating and caring doctor. When I was in Niagara falls I run out of medicine for my gout and I call him in the middle of the night to send me a prescription for my gout, no question ask he sent it right away through the drug store computer. He check my bp every time he sees me in his clinic so I wonder why some people say he didn't check the bp. He is not a racist doctor like some of the doctors in Riverhead. I HATE IT when some doctors ask you "do you speak english?". They judge you because of your race. That's a silly question.

One star is too high a rating.
Horrible.I accompanied my 85 yr old mom on two visits. First visit was to renew medication. She's been seeing him for several years. I was surprised that no one took her vitals despite the fact she's on blood pressure med and that vitals are part of anyone's visit so I thought?She has pain in her foot due to a fracture from a fall two years ago.He gave her a hard time about pain medication . It took her over 3 months to finish her last script of 30 Percocet.That was her only pain med script btw since finishing up a script she had when the accident occurred.
Since her pain has been ongoing and recently worsened I asked for a referral of a Dr who may look deeper into what's wrong.
He told me it was pointless because she had x-rays when it was fractured and that was that.
I went back the next day to get a script they forgot to give and he didn't remember her from the previous day.
Second time was a follow up from a hospital stay due to a mild stroke . Again no vitals and blew her out of the office.
She went again last week and he wrote a script for a med that had major adverse affects when taken along with a current medication and also should never be given to someone at risk for stroke.
He may be the most uncaring negligent Dr I've experienced.
Needless to say she won't be seeing him again.
