Dr. Irene Wong has been a wonderful and efficient GP in my experience, and I greatly appreciate the bulk billing. The majority of low ratings are from people frustrated by communication issues with the male receptionist and long wait times, which is unfortunately true (I have arrived and found myself in queues where I waited upwards of close to an hour for my appointment). If you are able to wait long wait times and don't mind difficulty with communication at times (the female receptionist has been very helpful!) I would definitely recommend her.

Dr Wong is an excellent GP who spends time to listen to you so she can make a good diagnosis. It may mean a slightly longer wait but it does mean you get time with the good doctor, unlike other GP in the CBD who want you in and out within x minutes, and will charge you a massive gap.

She is also one of the last CBD GPs who bulk bills (no gap payments needed), and she also speaks Cantonese.

The receptionists are always professional and efficient. I don’t understand the negative reviews, I can’t recommend her highly enough.

Look, I know the male receptionist is kinda sucks, but Dr Irine herself is very efficient. Her availability and willingness to bulk bill patient are a rare thing these day.

Went to see Dr. Irene Wong after advice from a nurse-on-call the previous night to see a doctor ASAP about an unusual (for my age) and distressing medical situation that I found embarrassing and difficult to talk about. Had to wait 40 minutes to be seen and did not feel the consultation was handled particularly well. I didn't feel I was taken very seriously and she didn't seem to know what best to do. At one point she seemed amused/bewildered by my situation and laughed, which wasn't upsetting but was neither appreciated or appropriate. The receptionist staff was lovely though.

As a doctor, Dr. Irene is alright, she's knowledgeable but she's not a patient person. I understand she's busy but I get the feeling that her time is far more valuable than mine. Which is ironic because appointment booking at this clinic is terrible - I've waited over 2 hours twice and the shortest time I've waited is 45 minutes.
But the worst part of the entire experience is dealing with the older gentlemen at reception. Get ready to deal with the most unhelpful and rudest person ever!! I once called to find out if my test results were back and he said I had to make an appointment to see the doctor to find out if my test results were back. I don't see the logic in having to take time off work to go in, when I have to do that when the test results are actually ready anyway!!
Anyways, after going there for 5 years, I've finally switched doctors even though asking for my medical history was impossible. Dealing with the rude reception guy is just not worth it. Waiting for 2 hours is also not worth it.

Person at the reception pick your call and just ignore it. We called in to get status of our referral and this dude ask how are you and disconnects the phone.

Dr Irene is fine. However, Not knowing who is the new person takes the call lately. The man CAN NOT handle simple call. He told a patient to shut up and hang up the phone who want to seek medical. No answer when call back numerous times. Now can’t make an appointment with Dr Irene for medical health. Is there any health medical regulations and consumer right to refuse patients for treatment? Never come across anyone has such high ego, unrespectful and impudent, who clearly can’t handle communication. Not sure if English is the cause of problem Please Dr Irene, a proper experience receptionist!
