Dr. Cohen was my mother’s PCP. My mother passed away July 12. While going through her items, I discovered two prescriptions that were filled for Atorvastatin which is generic for Lipitor. There is one refill left that she never filled because she died. These prescriptions were full, not one pill was taken; however, she was refilling them. The diagnosis from the medical examiner on her death certificate was arterial sclerosis cardiovascular disease which is hardening of the arteries. She had a massive heart attack, cardiac arrest because her plaque exploded. If Dr. Cohen‘s office had followed up and made sure my mother was taking her medication this may not have happened. My mother was a stubborn woman, and did not want to put chemicals into her system. This is evident In the way that because of her stress level, Dr. Cohen prescribed Xanax for her, and it was infrequently refilled, which meant she was not taking it very often, another oversight. She tried to treat herself naturally. She also had diabetes and was refilling the prescriptions for the testing strips and all the supplies needed to test your sugar every day. Her A1c was extremely high the last time her blood work was done yet no follow-up Bloodwork appointment was made to see if the medication was working or to see if her A1c went down. This may have prevented her death. I write this review so doctors are more aware and take notice whether their patients are taking their medication or not. It could save a life or prolong death. Now my mother is gone and I did not have the chance to say goodbye because it was sudden. She was found in her apartment during a welfare check and was there for several days as she lived out of state. I am not condemning anybody here, but I am trying to make,a point that primary care providers should be more attentive as to whether their patients are taking the medication‘s that they are being prescribed. I had to throw two bottles of prescriptions away. This is a waste for people that need them. What if there becomes a shortage and I just threw them away?

I don't write many reviews, but my experience with Dr Cohn was amazing. I would give him 10 stars if I could. Dr Cohn had a great sense of humor and made me feel at ease, The initial consult was fast and simple. When it came the day of the surgery, it was very much the same. I went in at 11:30am. the surgery only took a few minutes with local Anastasia. I didn't feel a thing. I was talking to the doctors during the whole thing. 10 to 15 later it was done. I put on my pants and I walked like normal. no pain at all.

My girlfriend drove and we went out to lunch. when I got home I relaxed for a couple of hours on the couch and watched a movie with a bag of frozen peas and again after we had dinner I did the ice pack thing for a few minutes. Again no pain no swelling or bruising. I feel asleep like normal.In the morning it's like it never happened. Thank you dr Cohn great work. Nothing to be scared of. see Dr Cohn. I highly recommend him.
