I love Dr. Yamaguchi. She is the first OB/GYN that I've had in my life that I trust and takes the time to build a relationship with a patient. I had a procedure that could have been extremely stressful but she was incredibly supportive throughout, providing me all the information I needed and following up with me to make sure I'm doing okay. Highly recommend! Thankfully my insurance covers my care with her, which makes a huge difference.

Dr. Yamaguchi is great, but she has a receptionist named Myra who called me to let me know that I have a balance due. I told her that I could not cover the whole balance right now since I do not have a job, and her whole tone changed. She said that since I was refusing to pay, that my bill would go to collections and that reflects poorly on me.... Considering that's not even what I told her, I am not sure why she decided to say something like that to me. If it wasn't such a hassle to find a good doctor in LA, I would switch doctors in a heartbeat due to the treatment i received from the people who are supposed to greet you and make you feel welcome upon entering the office.

I am writing this review to express my immense disappointment with the level of incompetence displayed by the staff at DTLA Gynecology. Not only did they repeatedly ask for proof of insurance, despite providing them with the necessary information, but their mishandling of billing has left me unfairly burdened with the responsibility of the bill.

On multiple occasions, I provided the office staff with my insurance information, expecting them to handle it appropriately. However, it was disheartening to experience their constant demands for proof of insurance, even after I had already provided the required documentation. Their lack of attention to detail and failure to rectify the issue in a timely manner is unacceptable.

To make matters worse, due to their incompetence, I am now being held responsible for the bill, despite having two insurance policies that were clearly provided to the staff. This not only reflects a lack of understanding on their part but also shows a complete disregard for the well-being and financial concerns of their patients. After requesting to speak to a manager for the mishandling if this matter I was discharged as a patient.

Furthermore, I was particularly dissatisfied with the gynecologist's approach during my appointment. Instead of addressing my concerns and providing appropriate guidance, the doctor seemed more focused on pushing birth control on me rather than providing a solution outside of sterilization. I felt unheard and disregarded, as if my personal preferences and needs were being dismissed.

As a patient, I expect a gynecologist's office to Susan insurance matters efficiently and accurately. It is their responsibility to ensure that all necessary paperwork is properly processed, avoiding unnecessary stress and financial burdens for patients. Unfortunately, DTLA Gynevology failed to meet these basic expectations. Not only did they fail to meet this expectation but the reception staff was extremely rude during the process.

I urge the management to address the incompetence of their staff and take immediate steps to rectify the billing issue. Patients should not be held accountable for the mistakes and negligence of the office staff. It is essential that they uphold their professional obligations and provide a seamless and responsible healthcare experience.

In conclusion, my experience at DTLA Gynecology Office was marred by the staff's incompetence, constant demands for proof of insurance, and mishandling of billing. I caution others to be wary of these issues when considering this facility for their gynecological needs.

I have low faith in the HC system here, but I love Dr. Yamaguchi! She’s very professional, attentive, intelligent and funny!! Unlike some doctors, she truly cares about you. I’m so grateful that she’s my doctor. 100% trust!
