I do not recommend this doctor. He diagnosed me with liquid in my pelvis area, and when I asked him to order me an MRI for a second opinion, he gave me all kinds of excuses that my insurance would not cover. I told him not to worry about my insurance and that I would pay out of pocket if they didn't. Well less than a week later my insurance approved it.

2 years ago today Lackey did a surgery on my mother it was supposed to be a simple procedure ,outpatient she would be able to return to work in a few days,unfortunately that was far from what actually happened. During the surgery he nicked the bowel he applied a mesh finished the surgery and discharged her she was taken back to the emergency room within 4 hours after discharge throwing up and in extreme pain she is admitted sent to a room where doctor lackey did NOTHING for 4 days it was AFTER THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND and my mother going septic he took her back to the Operating Room to see the mesh didn’t hold and her bowel was leaking into her body!!!!! She was sent to the ICU for 5 days 3 of them on a ventilator..my dad and I was able to talk to his assistant because once again he was no where to be found and not answering pages.shrug explained what happened that the mesh didn’t hold..when asked “was this something that happens when meshing the bowel” she said YES!!! LACKEY KNEW THIS COULD HAPPEN YET WAITED TO DO ANYTHING!!!! My mother was in that hospital for 6 weeks. Once we got her home I needed lackey to fill out paperwork for insurance I called his office they said it will take a few days but I can drop the paperwork off no problem dropped it off I called a week later and the paperwork hadn’t been done waited 3 more days then finally drove to the office they just started filling it out I waited and was very clear when i dropped the paperwork off DO NOT FAX THIS TO THE INSURANCE COMPANY IM TAKING CARE IF IT ALREADY but of course you know they faxed it delaying the benefits for duplicate claims..my mother passed away August 30 2023 from cancer..the trauma and stress lackey did because of his negligence her body couldn’t handle the chemo DO NOT TRUST ANYTHING THAT HIS OFFICE OR LACKEY HIMSELF SAYS how he still practices medicine and is able to do surgery is mind blowing to me..

He was my wife's surgeon until the last time I took her to see him. They took her insurance card plus my cash copay. Then his assistant looked at my wife for less than five minutes. She then consulted with Dr Lackey and he told her she needed to see an ear nose and throat doctor and would give us a referral. i asked her to talk to him again since it was such a small matter and we already paid to see him, plus I had to take the day off of work to take her there and she refused. I dont know what her insurance paid for that visit, but I paid $180 in cash that just flew out the window in less than a few minutes. I promise he will never see another dime from me. It would have been a nice gesture if they would've returned our cash copay seeing as how he couldn't help us. But that is only how us working saps operate, not doctors. By the way, I should mention though that his office staff is excellent. Very professional and polite. They did their job very well. It's a shame I can't say the same for the rest.

Dr Lackey is a fine doctor. His office staff is very friendly but still professional. Easy to get appointments. He is also involved heavily in young sports in Highlands county. I will happily see him again.

I have know Dr Lackey Since 2013 He and his PA Lori Austin have been taking very good care of me. I have diabetes and have had to have many surgeries since 2013 They have provided me with these surgeries and done a very fantastic professional job in doing so. They are Kind and Polite and listen to your problems and then deal with them. I would recommend their services to anyone. They have turned out to be a blessing to me and in the process really good friends.

My daughter had an emergency surgery October of 2019 by Dr. Lackey. He was very professional, sincere, and literally saved my daughter’s life. Had it not been for his insistence on bloodwork and a CT scan on a Saturday afternoon, she would have been sent home by the ER, to await a surgery on the following Monday that they had believed to be a minor procedure. Instead she was admitted, had the first of two surgeries only hours later.
She would not have made it to Monday. And I have nothing but praise and gratitude for him.

Dr. Lackey and staff are very profesional. They truly care for their patients. Dr. Lackey is down to earth, very simple and kind hearted. I truly have no complaints and feel blessed to have such physician and staff.
