After moving house I joined this practice. It's like night and day, in a positive way! I've now been here around 2 years and seen the doctors a few times, always managed to get an in person or phone appointment if needed. They also proactively reached out to give me an asthma review, something my old doctor didn't do. The other good thing is your in a queue when you call, instead of it just being engaged and having to keep trying.

Appreciate everyone's experience is different but I thought following my visit to Dr Jordan yesterday, for balance it's fair to share positive reviews too.

As a side note as I know its not part of the practice, but when getting bloods taken yesterday at the treatment clinic, I didn't even feel it when Linda popped in the needle...skill!

Dr Canning has a terrible manner and attitude towards patients, has no empathy and is down right rude and patronising. He is dismissive and told me 'I don't have time for this, I have 35 patients to see today'. Dr Jordan is new to the practice, very down to earth and a lovely man. Dr Foy is a locum who has been at the practice for a few months now and is a delight to see. She listens to you and acts accordingly. Have seen her a few times and would recommend her. Would go without an appointment rather than ever see Dr Canning. His attitude is very concerning considering he is a senior partner. He is there to provide a service, not to make you feel worthless and an inconvenience

It's a pity I can't give zero stars for this dump. Dr Canning should be struck off he's totally useless without a care in the world for his patients, his receptionists aren't any better very rude and lazy and they look like they would rather be anywhere else especially the elderly woman with glasses who thinks she runs the place. AVOID!

What a horrible experience I had at this doctors office. I went seeking medical advice for my son and got accused of being a bad mother, my 13 year old son being immature and 7 year old daughter being stupid when this women had just met me for 2 minutes and never met my daughter. How dare she call social workers on a hard working mother!?! There is nothing more important to me than the health and safety of my children!!!! What a disgrace to not make my sons health a priority than to sit and accuse me of being a bad mother shame on you!!! Not only did we have to take my son to a&e to make sure he is OK. This could have been avoided if you were more professional and were more concerned about his head!!!
I will never set foot in this practice again!

Terrible reception staff.

My own GP (at another, much better practice) told me my child would also need to see a doctor about the same matter. The receptionist told me they didn't and rudely hung up on me when I tried to explain. She obviously thinks she knows better than my GP.

It is proving impossible to get an appointment for my child, though I've been trying in person or on the phone repeatedly. The reception staff are rude and the booking system does not work at all.

When I finally got through, I was told dismissively to see a pharmacist. When I explained that I had already seen my own GP about the matter (a quick and easy appt. to book) and she had specifically told me my child would also have to see a doctor- she said goodbye and hung up.

If you are thinking of joining this practice then think again. Dr canning is a disgrace and shouldn’t be practising as far as I’m concerned. Everytime I called about my 8 month baby I have been fobbed of . My son has severe allergies and we had to go private as this doctor surgery wouldn’t even see us. 5 days we waited for a call back when they have a duty of care to see him. I’m appalled at the way we have been treated . Wish I had read the reviews on here before joining the practice last June.

Reception staff is so rude makes the patience want to avoid calling even if in need. Overall receptionist attitude can only be described as Bullying. Poor manners, total lack of empathy , those ladies should not be in this line of work. Doctors of the practise are nice but to get to them i wish you good luck as a generous amount of abuse will be dispensed beforehand. Avoid this practise

My Dad was a patient for many years and was given excellent care particularly in the last few months of his life. Despite the difficulties caused by Covid restrictions, Dr Canning, his colleagues and team were on hand to provide professional care with understanding and compassion. My Dad and our family were very grateful.
