My Dad has been u see the care of oncology institute Wilshire going on two years the service is unsatisfactory my Dads RN was on hold yesterday for 30 minutes it took two months for his Oncologist to order seizure medication my Dad has came to a end with his Chemotherapy there office doesn’t ANSWER the phone to inform Dr Orr when he’s not busy teaching his students should be teaching them how important it is to keep good communication with all his patients .

As my family gets ready for hospice we have no support because when answering the phone someone has a attitude answering g the phone friendly reminder being in the medical field compassion understanding empathy is much required .

Dr Orr has provided excellent care to my Dad from day one bless his heart for helping my Dad with Stage 4 Cancer .
However I am disappointed in the level of front office staff a kind reminder that being in the medical field we take a oath of valor to have empathy compassion to all , I understand we all come from different walks of life , it’s important to be be kind , patient , Respectful I just called to schedule for my Dad before I finished my sentence the call ended it’s not the first time , I hope this person never has to experience and go through what we are as a family , there are hundred of jobs out there to consider , when not comfortable when working to be of service. Happy healthy holidays and New Year 2024

I was diagnosed with a type of leukemia that is a subtype of AML and was told by many medical professionals in my area that I was going to die. My hemoglobin got down to 3.7 at my lowest along with many other severe issues that leukemia wrecks havoc on. However, Dr. Orr treated me with non-blood alternatives that saved my life. He was the only medical professional to give me hope, show me compassion, educate me on nutrition & exercise, and has been quick to respond to any issues or concerns I’ve had along the way. He truly is a wonderful Dr. and genuinely kind human. After 2.5 years in remission, I still look forward to seeing him on a regular basis for my follow-up visits.

Dr Orr became my physician in 1992. He is the best. Concerned about lifestyle impact, knowledgeable about new approaches to treatment, available, and candid in consultation.

I am so confused as to how this Dr has any sort of decent reviews. I was referred to Dr. Orr because of iron deficiency. My PCP and I both agreed that it was best to determine what the root cause of my iron deficiency was rather than just taking iron pills indefinitely. I went to this Dr. after waiting a month for the referral to go through and waited about an hr to see him. When I finally did see him, he brought in 3 interns and then proceeded to gaslight me. The entire time he looked at me with an attitude and posture of “why are you even here wasting my time?” I have iron deficiency without anemia...my last lab work showed that my iron stores/ferritin are at an 8(extremely low) and I have low iron saturation and microcytic RBCs. I have a normal monthly cycle with normal flow lasting 6-7 days and he told me that bleeding 7 days a month is what’s causing my iron deficiency and depleted iron stores(even though my cycle doesn’t affect my hemoglobin level). Then he told me that my fatigue was due to having two children. He did not even do the bare minimum of ordering basic lab work to determine what my current iron/ferritin levels were. The migraines, the fatigue, the brain fog, and heart palpitations are all apparently just part of being a woman of child-bearing age. He had zero desire to actually treat me or help me find a *definitive* root cause of my iron deficiency. Maybe he has given other patients with more serious ailments his time, attention, compassion, and expertise, but that was not the treatment I received from Dr. Leo Orr.
